長崎原爆でその瞬間を体験された53人を写した。お顔、その目が語られている事を写そうとした。各被爆体験談、情景と資料写真を交えての134頁。
その瞬間を体験された方のお顔には、その記憶が見えてくるように思えました。
5キロ以内での被曝瞬間は閃光、熱線、爆音、爆風そして放射能という誰も経験したことがない超常状況で、人や建物に甚大な被害が及んだ。
この特異な体験をされた方々のお顔、目から何が見えて来るかを写し止めたいと思うに至りました。
With the flash of light at the moment of impact within 5km of the hypocentre, the heat rays, the sound of the explosion,the bomb blast and ensuing radiation, both people and buildings suffered hitherto unexperienced and striking damage.
I wanted to capture something in the faces and eyes of those who had undergone such an unusual experience.
